Loving Refugees

“I was hungry and you gave me food,

I was thirsty and you gave me drink,

I was a stranger and you welcomed me.”

– Jesus (Matthew 25:35)

The Bible has a lot to say about caring for ‘the stranger’. As a church family, we strive to live generously by using our time, skills and resources to bless and serve our community and to live as the hands and feet of Jesus. Today, as refugees continue to find their new home in Phoenix, we are working to support and serve alongside local agencies, partners and churches in these efforts.

Learning About Refugee Resettlement

One of the key ways DSBC discerns how to best serve our community is through key partnerships. Recently, Pastor Caleb had the opportunity to interview Mary Kaech, Executive Director of Phoenix Refugee Connections, to help us get a better picture of what refugees experience during resettlement, how the U.S. government works with organizations and how churches and individuals can help their refugee neighbors.
