About Colleen

Colleen grew up Southern California and was raised by wonderful Christian parents, and at the age of six she gave her life to Christ. After high school she moved to Arizona and attended Southwestern Baptist Bible College, now known as Arizona Christian University. Colleen is married to Mike and she has two married daughters (Rachel – owns and operates 4 Christian pre-schools in the west valley) and (Melissa, RN and Realtor), and she is blessed with five wonderful grandchildren ranging from 6 to 19.

God has been good to Colleen allowing her to work at Discount Tire (DT) for 32 years where she met her husband Mike of 16 years. Colleen works in the finance business segment at DT and has been involved in benevolence programs at work and at DSBC, and has enjoyed working in the Tech booth for several years at DSBC. Colleen is and has been very active in the community leading the Discount Tire cycle team for over 10 years for charity events with MS, and the ADA. Starting in 2009 Bruce Halle, the owner of Discount Tire gave her team money to select 2-3 local charities where they could make an impact, and at the time they selected Kitchen on the Street (KOS). Members of the team packed bags of hope in the backyard of Lisa and Vince’s home until they were able to move into a classroom at Palomino Elementary School, then to a warehouse. These funds given to KOS in 2009 -2015 allowed them to get into a warehouse and to this day DT teams still go to pack “bags of hope”. Bruce Halle said, “Serve food with love and a child’s heart also grows”. Colleen has always had a heart for kids, taking teams to Awana Olympics and assisting with Good News Clubs.
