About Jason

I grew up in a God-fearing household, but my true relationship with Christ began when I was a young teenager. It started when my youth pastor, Big D, introduced me to NIV and the book of John. The reading and relationships lead me to publicly declare my inward change of heart on September 11, 1988, when I was baptized at my home church, Tanner Street Church of God in Sikeston, Missouri. A small town in southeast Missouri.

After high school, I attended Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana, a Christian based liberal arts school, where I earned my BA in accounting. Afterwards, I spent the next three years earning my law degree at the University of Missouri. From this education and certifications, I have focused on tax law. I am currently the Senior Director of Tax at Sprouts Farmers Market.

Various relationships and circumstances eventually led me to Phoenix. Over the years, I allowed circumstances to question and doubt my relationship with Christ. But He stayed faithful. Even when I doubted, He led me to DSBC through a relationship at work. This led me to meet my beautiful wife Shea and eventually resulted to our two biggest blessings, Wyatt and Willow.

As I look back through my journey with Christ, my walk has not been straight. But through authentic relationships my life was transformed so that I may stay on the path to impact the World for Christ. I hope I can do the same with others. I am honored to be part of DSBC’s family and serve as a board member.
